This countertop sharpener uses spring-loaded tungsten carbide wheels in the coarse slot to reset a dull or nicked edge, followed by fine ceramic rods in the second slot to hone and polish the bevel to a clean 20-degree angle. A non-slip rubber base and finger guard keep the tool stable and the user's hand clear of the blade during use, and it accepts straight-edge kitchen knives from paring to chef's-knife width. It is not intended for serrated blades or scissors.
