The probe folds flush into the ABS plastic body for safe storage and to trigger an auto-sleep function that shuts the unit off after 10 minutes idle, extending the replaceable CR2032 battery life. An IP66 water-resistant rating lets it be rinsed under a tap after checking poultry, roasts, or candy syrup temperatures.
